Baseball Game
Retired Captain David Byrnes, President of the TRLEA, and Sheriff of Kaufman County, Texas threw out the first pitch at the Texas Rangers Baseball game against the Houston Astros on Tuesday, September 24, 2013. The TRLEA honored all current and former Texas Rangers in conjunction with the baseball team. The pictures above were taken by Kelly Gavin of the Texas Rangers.
Promotions 
On August 1, 2013, Lieutenant Jeffrey Collins, Company “C” Lubbock promoted to Captain, RRT, Austin “HQ”. Jeff promoted to the Ranger Division on September 1, 1998. On October 1, 2007, Jeff promoted to Lieutenant and has been stationed in Lubbock until his promotion to Captain.
On August 1, 2013, Lieutenant Alan P. Davidson, Company “B” Garland transferred to Hurst, Company “B”. AP promoted to Lieutenant on August 1, 2012.
August Retirements
On August 31, 2013, Alvin Alexis, Major, Company “F” San Antonio will retire from the Department. Al began his career with DPS on October 18, 1988. He promoted to the Rangers on June 1, 1994. Al promoted to Lieutenant on September 1, 2004, to Captain on September 1,
2008 and to Major on July 1, 2011.
On August 31, 2013, Gary Shaw, Lieutenant, Company “E” El Paso will retire from the Department. Gary began his career with DPS on June 11, 1986. He promoted to the Rangers on October 1, 2008. Gary promoted to JOIC Staff Lieutenant on October 1, 2009, and promoted to Lieutenant on April 1, 2012.
Scholarship
The Texas Ranger Law Enforcement Association presented a scholarship toward the Spring and Fall semesters at Tarleton State University to Aaron Doyle. Aaron is enrolled at Tarleton State University working towards a Criminal Justice degree.

The Texas Ranger Law Enforcement Association ("TRLEA") held a luncheon in midland, Texas at the Petroleum Club on Tuesday, January 30, 2007.
The theme of the luncheon was "Super Bowl Pre-Game Party" and featured speakers from the NFL, all of whom played in one or more Super Bowl games.
Former NFL players in attendance were: Jethro Pugh, Dallas Cowboys; Cliff Harris, Dallas Cowboys; Don Maynard, New York Jets; Donnie Anderson, Greenbay Packers; Bake Turner, New York Jets; E. J. Holub, Kansas City Chiefs; and Dave Parks, San Francisco Forty-Niners.
Texas Rangers from Company "E" in Midland were in attendance at the luncheon. Several scholorships were awarded to children of the Midland Texas Rangers by the Texas Ranger Law Enforcement Association.
